When I was a little girl, once in a while my parents would sit me down and tell me I needed an attitude adjustment.

What they were seeing, that I was not, was that my attitude was off. That instead of being happy or helpful or whatever, I was cranky or crabby, without a good reason (and no, it wasn’t a gender thing…).

Mindset = attitude.

Mindset is the second Element of Connectivity, immediately following Why.

Once you have the vision of your Why, Mindset is the natural necessary progression to move us forward.

To deliberately set our mind, to choose our attitude, our frame of thinking is key and core to being a connector. To doing the works we wish to do. To make the impact in the world we want to make. To create and develop the relationships of true meaning and worth in our short and precious lives.

As an adult I’m a lot more aware of mindset than I was as a child.

As a business owner, spouse, dog mom, friend, client, speaker, dinner party host – all of everything I am – I’m very aware that my mindset is fundamental to my progress. More importantly, when my mindset is right on, I can much better serve those I wish to serve.

To connectors, that’s everything.

Call it mood, attitude or mindset – it’s all the same when it comes to our frame of thinking from the core of our Why.

When your mindset is rocket ready, you’re a force of nature. When it’s off, stay home. Sit your fine self down, reset, reframe. Then, when you’re mindset has shifted forward again, go out and do the good works you have in you.

Mindset is the second Element of Connectivity in the Connectivity Framework. It must follow and accompany your Why, before you set out into the tactical steps in actually connecting with other people.

Once you’re (mind)set, you can do anything.
